When does the solid tire manufacturer recommend replacing the tire?
Generally speaking, the normal service life of industrial solid tyres is four to five years. After five years, we should replace them no matter whether the tread wear is severe or not, because the rubber on the tread will age due to a long time, and many small cracks are the cause of tire blowout.
The service life of solid polyurethane tires will vary according to the different rubber formula, vehicle environment and driving habits. Therefore, we need to be more careful when driving. The aging of polyurethane solid tires also has signs. For example, the aging parts of the tread are mostly small cracks starting from the edge of the tire edge or shoulder. These cracks indicate that the bearing capacity and quality of the solid tire have begun to decline at this time. In order to reduce the risk of tire burst, replace in advance.
In addition to aging, polyurethane solid tires are also subject to natural wear. Therefore, the wear limit will be marked on the sidewall of the solid tire before leaving the factory to indicate the real-time wear status of this solid polyurethane tire. For solid tires without wear marks, we can also measure them with calipers. Generally, solid tires with groove depth less than 1.6 mm can no longer be used, because the drainage performance and puncture resistance of solid tires will be greatly reduced.
