How to judge the service life and wear degree of solid tire manufacturers
Generally speaking, the normal service life of tyres is 4 to 5 years. After 5 years, even if the tread wear is very small, it can be replaced, because the rubber on the tread will age due to time, and many small cracks are the inducement of tire blowout.
However, the relevant national departments have not yet made special provisions on the shelf life of tyres, because the service life of tyres will vary according to the different rubber formula, vehicle environment and driving habits. So we need to be more careful when driving. There are signs of tire aging. For example, the aging parts of the tread mostly begin to appear at the edge of the tire edge or shoulder. The long term sun and rain will make the rubber surface appear small cracks in circles. These cracks indicate that the bearing capacity and quality of the tire have begun to decline at this time. In order to reduce the risk of tire burst, replace the tire in advance.
In addition to aging, tyres also wear naturally. Therefore, before leaving the factory, the tires in the factory will be marked with wear limits on the sidewall to indicate the real-time wear status of this tire. For tyres without wear marks, we can also measure them with calipers. Generally, tyres with groove depth less than 1.6 mm can no longer be used, because the drainage performance and puncture resistance of tyres will be greatly reduced. In addition, if a tire has been repaired three or four times, we recommend that you change the tire to a non-drive wheel or rear wheel to reduce the risk of tire blowout.
Of course, the life of tyres is also related to whether they are normally used. First of all, we should ensure that the tires are always under normal tire pressure. Too low or too high tire pressure will bring hidden dangers to tire safety. We need to remind you not to believe what you see, because most cars are now equipped with tubeless low-pressure radial tires, which sometimes feel a little deflated from the outside, but it does not mean that you will lose air. Professional tire pressure instruments are the way to detect tire pressure. In addition, the tire pressure must be measured in the cold tire state. If it is a hot tire measurement, the measured value must be reduced by 0.3 PA to be accurate.
